THE CLAREMONT COLLEGES WILL CONTRIBUTE APPROXIMATELY $2,450,000 TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF JOHNSON’S PASTURE

Claremont, CA –

Yesterday The Council of The Claremont Colleges announced that all seven institutions, as well as the Claremont University Consortium, would make voluntary contributions toward the purchase of Johnson’s Pasture if Measure S is approved by voters on Tuesday, November 7. The Claremont Colleges stated their contribution would be equal to the payments The Claremont Colleges would have made under the Claremont Park Enhancement Assessment District.

Based on the combined amount of property owned by The Claremont Colleges, the estimated annual assessment would have been $70,000 for 35 years or a total of approximately $2,450,000.
