The supporters of the Yes on Measure S campaign form a coalition of Claremont residents who have diverse views but who are all concerned about protecting Claremont’s remaining open space from development. Polling done in December 2005 showed that 70% of likely voters supported a bond to purchase Johnson’s Pasture. The Yes on Measure S campaign represents that large majority of Claremonters who want to join hands and work together to pass on to future generations this open space that forms part of the city’s unique character.
Although many of us have been on different sides of various local issues in the past, we are joined in a desire to preserve the natural beauty and habitat of Johnson’s Pasture. We are positive and united, and we view the Measure S general obligation bond as an opportunity to fund the purchase of Johnson's Pasture.
